Bucs announce sellout for Sunday

Tennessee Titans v Tampa Bay Buccaneers Getty Images

Earlier this afternoon, the Buccaneers issued a press release declaring that Sunday’s game against the Eagles has been sold out, and thus will be televised locally.

It’s not really news, given that the team previously has declared that all home games will be televised.

The only way the games can be televised is if all (or, for the Bucs, 85 percent) non-premium tickets are purchased, either by customers or by the team/sponsors at 34 cents on the dollar.

So, yes, the game is sold out.  The real question will be the official attendance.

It is sold out, but not to actual people. 30% stadium filled tops…

How? I couldn’t give away my tickets!

The defense is worth showing up to see. Its pretty freaking great…

…the offense is why you show up with a brown bag.

Not surprising since Tampa has a large contigent of Philly Phans.

Eagles fans travel well. I was there last year to see the only birds win since week 4 of last year and I’ll be there again this year!

So, here is the masterplan to get all the games in your are televised no matter how good or bad your team is.
    1. Take a good team and ruin them by hiring hitler Jr. as the head coach.
    2. Take a good QB and ruin him by putting him with a terrible OC and Hitleresque coach.
    3. Fire the QB to save your job
    4. Convince management that this was their idea and as an appeasement to the fans that will not waste their hard earned money on going to the circus agree to broadcast the remainder of the home games no matter what!

    Stay classy Tampa Bay

13th ranked defense does not equal “pretty freaking great”.

    Sellout*

I normally go to 2-3 games a year, I shall not be attending anything until they fire that piece of Jersey trash Greg Schiano.

I’m gonna pay $200 a seat (I’m a fancy man, sit in the club seats) to watch some numskull get out-coached every week? Yeah, I don’t think so. The team has plenty of talent to win and without his defensive collapses in week 1 and 2 and the stupidity of starting a rookie QB in week 4 the Bucs very very easily could be 3-1. They’re not a well coached team and the coach has completely lost this fan and most of the team. Hey Glazers, fire this college hack and I’ll still be there this year.

actually coltswin the bucs are following your gameplan……let your starting QB go for nothing….tank the season……and let a franchise QB fall in your lap.

pftfan Bucs defense is fun to watch , hard hitting and when compared to the offense it is “pretty freaking great”. Also Bucs D has given up only 1 TD in every game but the Pats. Goldson, Revis , McCoy and David are worth the price of admission

And oh yeah, 5 TDs let up in 4 games, or what you let up to Peyton Manning in 1 half. Congrats.

The defense has played extremely well, but they’ve also give up leads at the end of two games and lost on the last play. In fact if the defense does it job then Freeman is still the starter and perhaps everyone doesn’t hate Schiano as much as they do now. I wasn’t a fan of Schiano and I didn’t like him before, but after trying to dump everything on Freeman as a way to save his job I now hate the guy. He’s trash, he’s a lair, he’s not a good guy and he’s not someone I would go pay to see.

Revis must be having a blast down there in Tampa, great team, great coach, great QB, no drama, no virus floating around that could kill you…

  18. ohnoflorio says: Oct 10, 2013 9:13 PM

I absolutely love watching this team erode. The whole franchise (local media, ownership, GM, coaches, players, fans, etc.) was talking so much smack when they got Revis…like this guy was going to put them over the top…when in reality he may get you one win….nice job, could have had an absolute beast in Sheldon Richardson…idiots, instead you got a CB on his downside w/a bum knee and an awful attitude. PS: Richard Sherman is about 10x better than Me-Vis

Actually peyton went down with a neck injury.. the twam bombed without him.. then the released him because they felt that andrew luck could be just as good (which was a pretty good call) and didn’t want to pay an aging player 28 million dollars considering the three next surgeries. Just so happened the next surgeries have not affected him as they thought because of the did inwouldnt even be making this comment right now
