The Ravens said last week that tackle Eugene Monroe’s comfort with the offense would be a big factor in determining when he took over as the team’s starting left tackle.

Monroe didn’t wind up playing against the Dolphins and it’s not surprising that he didn’t have total knowledge of the playbook just a few days after being traded to the team by the Jaguars. He’s had a bit more time to let everything seep in now and Monroe says he’s ready to make his Ravens debut.

“I feel like I have a pretty good grasp of what’s going on,” Monroe said, via the Baltimore Sun. “I’m ready to go. I’ll start getting in there with the guys, building on a relationship on the line and be ready. It’s been a grind: First one in the building, last one out. I’m doing everything it takes to be ready.”

The Ravens have not gotten much from Bryant McKinnie at left tackle this season and he had a poor game against the Dolphins, which is why Monroe is on the team and why he’s got a good chance of being in the lineup this weekend against the Packers despite a relatively short time in the offense.
