New charges filed against retired Cowboy Josh Brent

Former Cowboys defensive tackle Josh Brent now faces more charges related to the death of his old college and pro teammate Jerry Brown.

According to the Associated Press, a grand jury has added a second count of manslaughter to the previous intoxication manslaughter charges.

The additional charge would allow Brent to be found guilty even without being found to have been intoxicated, and Brent’s attorney George Milner said he wasn’t surprised by the decision.

Brent “retired,” this offseason, but that’s a moot point with him facing a possible 20 year sentence.
