Wisconsin, LSU to play at Lambeau Field in 2016

Wisconsin and LSU will play at Green Bay’s Lambeau Field early in the 2016 season, the Packers and UW said Friday.

The Badgers will host the Tigers on Saturday, September 3, 2016.

“It is a tremendous opportunity to showcase our program, a great experience for our players to play in one of the most revered stadiums in the country and a terrific chance for our fans to see us play a quality opponent in the state of Wisconsin,” Wisconsin athletic director Barry Alvarez said in a statement issued by the Packers.

This marks the first time the Badgers have played at Lambeau Field and only the fourth college game at the stadium. The other collegiate games featured the St. Norbert College football team. The Packers have long had their training camp at St. Norbert.

That’s awesome. That’s a game I’d kill to see, mostly for the stadium, but still!

Lame. They need to play in December.

As both a Packers and Badgers fan, I look forward to it.

Dominic Raiola is really going to hate that halftime show.

This has been rumored/expected for months. I didn’t realize it hadn’t been made official yet.

Not the first time UW will play at Lambeau. The UW hockey team played there several years ago.

The NCAA will probably ban the Lambeau Leap.

Next thing you know some pro team like the Vikings will be playing in a tiny college stadi – oh… yeah.

LSU by 50 in this one. The two teams aren’t close to the same level talent-wise or program-wise.

Wow – What an awesome game. Def looking forward to that especially with it being in Lambeau. There needs to be more of this. I’d love to see an Alabama go to Ohio State and beat the living shi out of the Buckeyes or something, or better yet a home/away series between an SEC team vs Oregon. There’s so many awesome matchups that could happen in college football but never happen.

These kids are tremendously fortunate to be able to play on such legendary hallowed grounds.

Wonder how many “alleged” criminals The Mad Hatter wil bring North? ON WISCONSIN!

LSU by 50? You are a freaking idiot. The gd game is 3 years off. LSU could (should?) be sanctioned to the point of obsolescence by then.

One thing is for certain, LSU is not on the same level as the University of Wisconsin academically.

Whatever helps you sleep at night after LSU kicks the crap out of Wisconsin buddy. Don’t be all sanctimonious when the only thing people do in Wisconsin is get fat, eat cheese, and go to Packer games. This guy really wants to bring up academics on a football thread. Makes sense I suppose since it’d be mighty hard for a big ten guy to argue football when they haven’t won a championship in 800 yrs
