Antonio Cromartie expected to play despite knee scare

When word surfaced this week that Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie had suffered a knee injury in practice, it was a worrisome note for a team that has been surprisingly competitive this season. But it looks like the Jets don’t have much to worry about.

Cromartie is expected to play on Sunday against the Steelers, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Although the Jets will wait until after pregame warmups to make it official that Cromartie is active, he has reportedly told teammates that he’ll be good to go.

Cromartie hasn’t been quite the playmaker in the secondary this year that he was last year, when he routinely took on opposing No. 1 receivers and emerged as one of the NFL’s top cornerbacks after the Jets lost Darrelle Revis. But the Jets would miss him if he were gone, and his availability is good news.

A CB without his legs? If Roethlisberger is smart, he’ll throw that direction all day long!

    Oh, wait…

I would sit him this week as a precaution. I want him at 100% for the Patriots next week!!

The Jets’ D is better without Revis. Now that has more to do with all the young studs they have on the D-Line, but the drop-off from Revis to Cro isn’t too significant.

Anyone else notice Darrelle’s dramatic talent drop off since returning? He’s getting burnt all over the place. Glad we got a true team first player and baller like Cro.

And may I add if Cro didn’t deflect that TD pass to Jones on Monday vs the falcons. The falcons could of had more time to win the game, I’m surprised he didn’t get any credit for that.

He will only help us. How does he expect to guard Brown?

The Jets haters are still here.
They can’t use Buttfumble, Circus, Sanchez, etc.
So they attack the personal lives of Jets players.

Guess the team they’re rooting for THIS season is free of anything wrong.

BTW, how’s “The Jets will win 2 games this season” working out??

But Jets Nation is happy you still devote, and apply a good part of your lives to the Jets.

    Ah, wearethesteelers showed up!

Math question: Is there a number lower than zero without going negative?

Guess you’ll have to stick with zero.

But you did have a ball this offseason until kickoff.
    How’s the NFL treating you?

    1. It is significant. Revis was an all time great before his injury. Cromo is a top 10 cb of the past few years. That is significant. ,I love Cro, but he ain’t Revis.

    2. The drop off from Revis to Cro may not be huge, but the drop off from Revis and Cro to Cro and Walls, Wilson or Millner is.

The big difference is that WIlkerson has developed into a top 10 DE and Richardson is also a really good player. That coupled with Coples who every once in a while will really run makes for a disruptive front. If we had a healthy Revis here, this could be a dominant defense week in and week out. Instead we have an inconsistent Def that struggles to get off the field at the end of the game.
