Browns’ Sheard: Suh is great, but I don’t respect the dirty stuff

AP

When Browns linebacker Jabaal Sheard looks across the field at Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh on Sunday, he’ll be looking at a great player. But not a player he respects.

Sheard told the Cleveland Plain Dealer that he doesn’t understand why Suh has to go beyond just playing hard and cross the line toward trying to hurt his opponents.

“I just watch the highlights y’all put on ESPN with him hurting somebody,” Sheard said. “It’s crazy. It’s the league, so guys play hard. I respect how hard he plays, but I’m not a dirty player, so I don’t care for it. There are offensive linemen that play like that. There are a few guys that play that way. I don’t know, man, I don’t respect it. I don’t like it. He’s a great player, he’s a dominant player. I don’t think he needs to do all the dirty stuff.”

Sheard was the most direct about it, but it sounds like other Browns players don’t think much of Suh personally, either. Browns left tackle Joe Thomas said, “I don’t care for all of the extracurriculars and personal fouls,” while Browns center Alex Mack would say only, “I’m not going to answer that” when asked if Suh is dirty.

For his part, Suh told Cleveland reporters, “I’m never going to change.” That probably means he’s never going to be a popular man on opposing teams.

  1. One game with Conrad Doobler at the bottom of the pile, Suh would understand what it’s like to have it done to him. (I know showing my age, The Cardinals were in St. Louis Then)

  2. Sheard is right, Suh doesnt need to do the “extra” stuff to be a dominant player to succeed in the NFL. He can be a force, but since he is a time bomb, a lot of offensive linemen get under his skin to provoke a penalty from Suh.

Somebody please name one time Suh has hurt somebody.

    Reality will be waiting.

What??? Admittedly I don’t watch ESPN highlights but has he really hurt someone that had to go out of a game? What kind of clips is ESPN showing??? Is this guy currently in league concussion testing?

    Wh0? You asked who? Really?

Thanks for confirming you don’t know ‘who’ is the third highest rated OLB in the NFL by profootballfocus. A classy LB like Lambert would be ashamed of you.

The Cleveland Clowns are starting to talk a little smack..hmmm. Winning two games in a row is all you’re gonna get. Your time to lose has arrived.

Hilarious, and ironic coming from a Bungles fan. UUHHHH, Beavis, the Browns have won 3 in a row, and you think you would know that considering your team is one they beat. Look for the Browns to win #4 in a row tomorrow, to remain atop the AFC North. Go Browns!

  7. Love these Steeler trolls always making lame comments on Browns posts. Trying to make themselves feel better. Feel free to jump off a bridge when your squad loses to the Jets tomorrow.

    Who?

He was an all american at Pitt. You know, the college in the same city as your beloved Steelers. They play in the same stadium and practice in the same facilities. How do you not know who he is?

Although you probably didn’t know there were any colleges in Pittsburgh since higher education doesn’t interest most Steeler fans.

Man you guys are pumped for your team even though they consistently win the AFC North basement prize..lol
Good for you guys, keep it going.LOL!

  11. Somebody should stop letting ESPN do his thinking for him, watch film, and then say with a straight face Suh is out there “doing all sorts of extracurriculars.”

  12. Suh really is a great player. And it is a shame that he feels the need to engage in dirty plays. He could be a great role model for younger players without all that stuff.

Yeah we are pumped, and we do not live in the past, but since you wanna go there, when was the last time your Ben Gals made it past the first round of the playoffs? Lets face it the bengals and the browns have been bottom dwellers for the most part of the past decade. All I know is my browns beat your bengals, and will beat them again in Cinci. So come back on and talk smack when your team beats my team. Actually you might be better off trolling Steeler stories and adding you witty commentary as they are a team the Bengals can beat.

Seeing as beating the Packers is the equivalent of a Super Bowl win for Cincy, you really fit the term “losing fan.”

  15. Browns gonna win again. I thought they were throwing the season away when trich was traded but I have realized he is a bum and they were smart to cut their losses. U heard it here first roethlisberger will be on browns next year

  16. Gotta love all the (detroit) fans who claim suhsie doesn’t play dirty. Not even R Incognito or Conrad Dobler had as many NFL players complain about how dirty suhsie is but yet with players from every team the lions have played complaining about suhsie’s tactics. lions fans refuse to believe. i guess perception is reality for many. lions fans want proof of injury but stomping on someone’s head/arm, kicking someone in the goonads, taking them out from behind at the knees when not even involved in the play, leg whipping to intentinally trip a player, etc. etc. may not have caused permanent injury (yet) but they are none the less dirty tactics. Ray Lewis was acquitted of murder but there’s no one outside of Baltimore that believes he didn’t do it….not even lions fans, lol I can’t wait until another player takes sushie out with a dirty play and perhaps ends his season or career and then listen to Jim Schwartz, Suhsie and lions fans…..the day will come and the song will change, just wait.

  17. Suh, the dirtiest player in the league that’s never hurt anyone. Lol at the comments claiming other teams complain about him. In the age of nfl players who get manicures and pedicures and sling their hair around like women, if I were Suh I’d wear that as a badge of honor.
