Vick says he has a “long road” back to health

For Chip Kelly’s “force the Bucs to prepare for both quarterbacks” ruse to work, both quarterbacks need to play along.

One of them isn’t.

With Mike Vick listed as questionable with a hamstring injury and making the trip to Tampa Bay amid multiple reports that Vick won’t play, the Eagles were committed to the con job.

Until Vick spilled the beans.

“Right now, still working to get back to it — get to 100 percent, you know,” Vick told Derrick Gunn of at the team hotel.  “So it’s going to be a long road.”

We’ve heard that Vick could miss at least two games.  It now appears clear that Vick definitely will miss at least one game.

So there it is, Greg Schiano and company.  Start focusing on Foles.

You already should have been.

    It’s a dog’s life.

Sad part is, eagles will lose to bucs with or without Vick. No beans to spill really.

At this point in his career, I’m sure that even Mike Vick knows that being a backup QB isn’t a bad gig to have. Even if he has to take a pay cut next year.

Especially if he gets MRSA in Tampa

What??? You mean michael vick is gonna miss atleast a game due to injury??! I’m shocked.

  7. icdogg says: Oct 12, 2013 11:28 PM

Of course, if Vick really is ready to play, it would be a great reverse con job.

Vick, foles, whoever… get the ball to 25 and 10 in motion.

You shouldn’t even be in the NFL, dog killer.

  10. blockedshotnyr says: Oct 12, 2013 11:35 PM

No one has ever referred to Michael Vick as a team player.

His thinking is simple – if the Bucs know Foles is coming, he’s less likely to succeed and therefore, less likely to take my job.

Why else would he reveal this information?

“I got two weapons… my arm, legs, and brain”

….Nobody ever said Vick was the smartest.

    Thanks for the article, Benedick.

    That was CLASSIFIED information!

  15. sfm073 says: Oct 13, 2013 12:00 AM

He won’t get his job back either

  16. dclogicatlast says: Oct 13, 2013 12:02 AM

Unless this means Vick is healthy and going to play and the Eagles are really playing super coy.

  17. uncledick says: Oct 13, 2013 12:34 AM

Another long road in a series of long roads for Micheal Vick

  20. ziggystheansah says: Oct 13, 2013 1:41 AM

Wonder how the offense will look under foles. Too slow to run Chips O.

  21. sevensgottago says: Oct 13, 2013 6:08 AM

Vick: Go away for 5-7, come back, and try again.
    With ANOTHER team!!

  23. skinsgal4life says: Oct 13, 2013 7:26 AM

Vick will always be mentally unhealthy.

  24. hollymolley says: Oct 13, 2013 7:55 AM

Here we go again, the Vick saga moves on. Is Foles the answer ? Vick is not going to fully rehab. If its not the hammy it will be one of his other worn out parts. The Eagles season looks bleak at best, maybe a high draft pick is in the future. But they also need a “D”, The more I think about it, this team is in deep DO-DO.

  25. bobleblah says: Oct 13, 2013 7:59 AM

Just so long as he is ready for Green Bay week 10.

  26. greymares says: Oct 13, 2013 8:22 AM

I disagree that Vick is not continuing the possible deception. Tampa’s prep for the Eagles is over so now the deception faze switches to the Dallas Cowboys.

  27. eagleswin says: Oct 13, 2013 8:31 AM

Vick ran for almost as many yards as he passed last game. If he can’t run, he’s not an NFL QB.

I have been waiting a long time for this idiot to be off the team. Let’s hope this is the year. I’m sure Reid is happier coaching a team where people aren’t wondering why he’s sticking by the QB who can’t read defenses and can’t throw without having to run around all the time.

  28. boogymanoflamancha says: Oct 13, 2013 8:37 AM

Or Vick plays, and the ruse worked

  29. ace8842 says: Oct 13, 2013 8:38 AM

An an Eagles fan, Mike, I just want to say, don’t rush it coming back…take you time. Take a long, long, long, long time. How about 2014?

The Eagles need to find out about Foles anyway to see if they have to draft a QB next year.

  30. seatownballers says: Oct 13, 2013 9:30 AM

So In football terms, he’s ready to go?

  31. mancave001 says: Oct 13, 2013 1:39 PM

As an Eagles fan who used to hate Vick when he was in Atlanta, the level of hatred now astounds me. The dog comments are just stupid at this point. As for Vick the QB, I’m not the biggest fan, but he probably wins more games for you than he loses. He’s also explosive at times.
