Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green hasn’t had too many highlights through five weeks, but the sixth week of the season got off to a better start.

Green has three catches for 80 yards in Buffalo, including a touchdown and a 54-yarder that set up another score. The Bengals lead 17-10 thanks in large part to those two big plays. Green’s touchdown, his first since Week Three and the team’s first passing touchdown since that same week, came on a great grab and toe tap in the end zone over Bills corner Leodis McKelvin.

The other Bengals touchdown came on a nifty run by running back Giovani Bernard, who turned a Dalton pass into a 20-yard score. Bernard also had a 15-yard gain on a pass and his playmaking skills continue to impress in his rookie season.

Thad Lewis has handled things fairly well in his first start for the Bills. His skills as a runner accounted for the Bills’ only touchdown and he’s connected on 8-of-11 passes for 67 yards. They had a golden opportunity to get points at the end of the half when Jim Leonhard picked off Andy Dalton and returned the ball into Cincinnati territory, but the Bengals defense wouldn’t yield. The same was true when the Bengals got four shots from the Buffalo two-yard line earlier in the half, a failed chance that ended when Lewis was sacked on fourth down.
