Aqib Talib limps off in New England

In the first half of the Saints-Patriots contest, Saints tight end Jimmy Graham was held without a catch due to a defensive approach centered on cornerback Aqib Talib.

If the Patriots are going to keep Graham off the board, they may have to do it without Talib. Talib limped off the field after a first down play in the third quarter and is being examined by medicall staff on the Patriots sideline. He eventually made his way to the locker room for further evaluation.

Talib initially appeared to injure himself on the previous series when the Saints failed to convert a third down and settled for a field goal to cut the New England lead to 17-10. He was attended to on the bench and rejoined his teammates on the field before retreating again to the sideline.

Graham still doesn’t have a catch, but the Saints were able to drive down the field after Talib left the field. They used the running game for the most part and Khiry Robinson scored from three yards out to tie the game.

He’s turned into a top 5 corner. Hope he’s ok.

Taunting doesn’t apply to Talib I guess. He breaks up a pass to Graham and acts like he made the Super Bowl winning play. I’ve seen plenty of flags for a lot less.

he blankets guys underneath with safety help over top. not a true shutdown corner in that sense. it is effective in the end, so kudos to belichick for using his personnel wisely.

Jskec4–you forget who you’re talking about. The Pats* ALWAYS get all the calls. It’s in the NFL rule book the last ten years or so….

This team might actually be pretty good if they could just keep players out of the infirmary, jail and Denver.

Well if you ever wondered if the NFL rigged games here is all the proof you will ever need. Three plays in a row the Saints tried to give this game away, especially right after a defender purposely threw a receiver out of bounds to stop the clock. Come on man, that was blatant give away by the Saints. Some one rich and important just made a ton of money of this game.

It’s a sign of respect by immature football fans. I hate the Pats but I respect what they do.

Talib is good, damn good. He always had the talent, but in Tampa they don’t do things right. I don’t like the Pats, but they look dangerous, especially that D.
