Receiver Kenny Britt has had a rough start to his contract year in Tennessee. He may get a chance to finish it elsewhere.
Per a league source, two or three teams currently are believed to be interested in Britt. The former first-round pick was beginning to develop as a top wideout in 2011, but an ACL tear wiped out the rest of the season. He hasn’t been the same ever since.
Britt’s career also has been undermined by a variety of off-field issues. To his credit, he has stayed out of trouble for well over a year.
It’s highly unlikely that Britt also would get a new contract along with his new team. His value will be difficult if not impossible to determine unless and until he has a chance to perform in a new city.
If he’s traded, what he does over the rest of the year will determine whether he stay and, more importantly from his perspective, whether he gets paid.
The trading period ends on Tuesday, October 29.
