No word yet on Calvin Johnson

Calvin Johnson AP

As Sunday’s games approach, the question we’re getting more often than any other relates to the status of Lions receiver Calvin Johnson.

Apart from the reality that his presence (or absence) will go a long way toward determining the outcome of the Detroit-Cleveland clash, his presence (or absence) could have a strong impact on the outcome of fantasy football matchups throughout the globe.

Johnson’s availability despite a knee injury will be determined at game time.  Game time is approaching, but for now there’s no specific word on whether he’ll play.

We’ll be monitoring all available sources and outlets and posting the latest right here.  It could be that we won’t know the answer until the inactives for the game are announced at 11:30 a.m. ET, or thereabouts.

it’s either around the globe or throughout the world; not throughout the globe. it just doesn’t make sense, logistically.

sit him until hes healthier, why risk long term injuries to play him now, but he does make too much money to be sitting, the lions are a different team without him

Browns top 10 defense is game planning to stop Reggie Bush. Guys like Megatron are almost going to get theirs anyhow, no matter who they play, whether they are 100% or not.

How awesome would it be if he was 75-80% and they played him as a lame decoy for the first quarter… even the first half… and then just burned them the rest of the game.

If he doesn’t play Stafford becomes worthless. Bush can’t carry the team by himself.

Fantasy owners should have alternatives just in case… Just be ready.
