Report: Matt Flynn to work out for Bills

Bills quarterback Thad Lewis sprained his right foot in Sunday’s overtime loss to the Bengals, but said he thought he’d be fine.

If he isn’t, the Bills might turn to Matt Flynn. Mike Rodak and Adam Schefter of ESPN report that Flynn will work out for the Bills this week.

The visit appears to have been in the works before Lewis was injured. Chad Graff, who covers the NHL’s Minnesota Wild for the Pioneer Press, tweeted that the former Packers, Seahawks and Raiders quarterback was on his flight to Buffalo before Sunday’s game was over or Lewis’ injury came to light. Flynn was released by the Raiders last week.

Undrafted rookie Jeff Tuel was Lewis’ backup on Sunday and the Bills are going to be without E.J. Manuel for a few more weeks as he recovers from a knee injury. Dennis Dixon was signed to the team’s practice squad this week.

Hope the best for you Matt. we loved you in Green Bay. But if I am the GM you would not get signing bonus of any kind.

What has this guy ever done in the league to warrant all these opportunities???

The Netanyahu Football League needs Tebow more than ever! The players are so stupid and unlikable!

    Tebow = America’s persecuted Malala

He hasn’t been given a fair chance in either of his stops. The owners in Seattle & Oakland knew they wanted Wilson & Pryor, respectively. He’s not a bad option to be the guy who warms the seat while Manuel gets healthy.

Should the this team bring in VINCE YOUNG???
He has shown everyone that he is NOT a cancer in the locker room and that he is a hard worker (e.g. Green Bay Packers)… Vince is a 6′-5″ mobile quarterback with talent and playoff experience…. He is hungry, motivated and determined to continue playing the game that he love so much, NFL FOOTBALL…
Vince is a LOW risk-HIGH reward type of guy… This would be a wise move for any GM/Coach looking to upgrade their qb pool….

He was given a fair shot in Oakland.

The NFL would rather lose money than bring in Tebow. Weird! The NFL feels more like scripted, pro wrestling every year! SB blackouts, spygate cheating, barrett robbins wigging out, PEDS, etc!

For some reason I thought they already tried him, but then I realized he and Kevin Kolb are different guys.

@artvandelay187, no way. Baby Davis wanted Pryor as the quarterback just as bad as Al did before he died. He played one bad game in Oakland. That’s one out of three games in his career that haven’t gone well. I’m not one who firmly believes he’s going to set the world on fire, but there’s enough there for him to be part of a fair competition, which he has yet to be.

Due diligence. that is all. This is not the quarterback you’re looking for. He can go about his business. Move along.

I hope he doesn’t have “elbow pain” again while he’s working out for them.
But, having taken that cheap shot, I hope he lands somewhere. He might find a system that works for him, he could work and improve and be an ok quarterback. Maybe.

Considering that the Bills are overturning every quarterbacking stone they can to find something that someone else may have overlooked, is it not too far-fetched to think that they will dip into next years QB- rich draft and take one again. Not in the 1st round, but they would be fools not to explore the opportunity.
There is no guarantee that Manuel is a “franchise lock”.

What happened with Pat White? He deserves a shot before Flynn. John Beck is available, isn’t he? What about Matt Leinart? At least he has an idea of the system.

The Bills won’t bring in Vince Young because he was already there, couldn’t learn the playbook, and got cut.

I hope Manuel gets well soon, that team was actually looking like they might be able to compete with him at QB.
