Talib has hip flexor injury

A.J. Green, Aqib Talib AP

The good news for the Patriots is that they came back and won a game that roughly half the people at Gillette Stadium assumed they’d lose.

The bad news is that cornerback Aqib Talib is injured.

Per a league source, Talib has suffered a strained hip flexor.  In 2010, he tore a tendon from a bone in his hip, which knocked him out from December through the end of the season.

Early indications are this injury isn’t serious.

YOU NEED TO NOTE THAT THE GAME STARTED AT 1:25 PM, about 20 minutes later than usual, which pushed the games finish closer to 5pm when the Red Sox were playing a huge game in the ALCS. Getting out of the Gillette stadium area can take quite a while, so the late start and the 5pm first pitch combined with the fear of not getting to watch the game until the 7th inning because of traffic, in conjunction with losing a late lead and turning the ball over on their next possession at their own 26 with so little time remaining, all conspired to make for some empty seats. It was an unusual day….. You need to acknowledge that.
