Titans take lead as things get weird in Seattle

Seahawks kicker Steven Hauschka has complicated things before with in-game injuries.

But today’s might have taken the cake.

Hauschka was being evaluated for a concussion after an attempted tackle on a kickoff, leaving him unavailable for a field goal attempt to end the half.

So with regular holder Jon Ryan (the punter) forced to kick, Seahawks safety Chris Maragos was forced into duty as the holder. The snap got away from him, and when he tried to get up and do something (pass maybe, it was unathletic enough to be hard to tell), Titans cornerback Jason McCourty knocked the ball away and returned it 88 yards for a touchdown and a 10-7 lead.

The end of the half was a mess for a number of reasons, as game officials had a hard time spotting the ball, which might have kept the Seahawks from taking a shot at the end zone.

If the Seahawks are going to come back from a 10-7 deficit, they better score touchdowns (plural), because their kicking game can’t be trusted at the moment.

Just Bizarre. The much vaunted Legion of Boom is lucky it is Fitzpatrick is missing all the wide open receivers running around the field.

I feel so sorry for the Seahawks. They have such a classy coach (throw up in mouth). It would be a shame if they lost this one.

I blame the ref more b/c Maragos was down!!!

I’m confused why maragos was out there to begin with. Why not have Tjack as the backup holder. He has held before and would be much more useful in that situation than a backup safety. Plus you could keep them honest by the threat of the fake.

But but but the replacements refs are horrible and when we get the regular refs everything will be fine…

Lots of excuses already. The holder wasn’t even close to down and there’s still another half.

Go Titans Go! Great play… It my Titans had a different QB starting without a noodle weak arm who didn’t wind up and throw with his eyes closed, the Titans might have won!
