While the news on Thad Lewis’ foot injury was good, the Bills still needed to add to their odd-lot collection of quarterbacks.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Bills plan to sign Matt Flynn today.

For a guy who has made a lot of money for playing one game every so often, he’s a perfect fit in Buffalo, where he’ll slide in with Lewis and Jeff Tuel.

They’re waiting on first-rounder E.J. Manuel to get well, having already placed Kevin Kolb on injured reserve. With the way Flynn’s short stay in Oakland turned out, it’s hard to imagine how much he’ll help, but at a certain point, you need numbers to get through practice.
