Cardinals defensive end Calais Campbell suffered a scary looking injury late in Sunday’s loss to the 49ers and had to be taken off the field on a stretcher, although fears that it was as bad as it looked subsided with the news that Campbell was able to fly home on Sunday night.

Campbell was at work with the rest of the Cardinals on Monday as they started their abbreviated week of preparation for Thursday’s game against the Seahawks and said that he was feeling well a day after the injury. Well enough, in fact, that he’s hoping to be on the field in Week Seven despite the quick turnaround.

“I’m just very hopeful right now,” Campbell said, via Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic. “It was a scary moment for a second. Everything feels really good now.”

Campbell was also asked about some 49ers fans trying to start the wave while he was down on the turf, an activity that drew criticism from 49ers CEO Jed York and 49ers players on the field who tried to get the fans to stop while Campbell was being attended to. Campbell said he was unaware of anything going on in the stands until he was being wheeled off and heard cheers, which he said he appreciated.
