Calais Campbell returns home after night in hospital

The Cardinals got some good news this morning, as defensive lineman Calais Campbell avoided a serious injury in last night’s loss at San Francisco.

Campbell had to be taken off the field on a stretcher last night, though he was able to give a thumbs up on his way to a local hospital.

This morning, the Cardinals announced that Campbell had left the Bay Area hospital, and had returned home to Arizona.

Campbell’s play has been one of the reasons the Cardinals have been as effective as they are on defense, and being able to get back home is a good sign he won’t be out long, if at all.

Can’t believe those scumbags did the wave when he went down. Niner fans are historically classless. Hopefully Karma catches up to all those who participated.

Hard to believe he’ll be back for Thursday

Of course, he only has 96 hours from the end of one game to be ready for kickoff for the next game, thanks to this week’s game being on Thursday Night Football.

After all the posturing the NFL does about player health and safety, the weekly scheduling of a Thursday game really doesn’t seem to be congruent with the rest of the messaging. Plus, because the teams are invariably both tired, the quality of play often isn’t up to standards.

    @ assuredblabla

It was already stated that when Calais gave the thumbs up the crowd gave him a standing ovation and cheered for him.

Oh what’s that? You’re a Seahack troll, oh no wonder you’re the first to post on a Niner article spewing your misinformed trash.

@BraceYourself – Yes, they did cheer when Calais gave his thumbs up and as a Cardinals fan I do appreciate it, but really, the wave? When he’s on the turf? Bad form.

San Fran fans almost as bad as Houston fans.
