Chris Clemons may miss Thursday night with elbow injury

The Seattle Seahawks may be without starting defensive end Chris Clemons for Thursday night’s game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Clemons was injured in the second half of Seattle’s 20-13 victory over the Tennessee Titans. Clemons suffered a hyper-extended elbow and went to have an MRI on the injury Monday. Head coach Pete Carroll said there is a “little issue” there for Clemons and it’s left his availability for Thursday’s game in doubt.

With the short week, Carroll said it would be difficult for Clemons to get back in time for the game.

“Basically a (pain) tolerance deal and it’s going to be a challenge for him to get back in the short week,” Carroll said. “It really doesn’t work to his advantage and in a normal week, he’d have a better shot. But we don’t know. He’s very tough about handling stuff and coming back and so we’ll just see if he is able to endure it and get his strength back and play. We don’t know that right now.”

Clemons has played in four games for Seattle since returning to the lineup. He missed the first two games while continuing to rehab from a torn ACL in the playoffs last year. He’s started the last two games for Seattle and seven tackles and 2.5 sacks.

Yet another injury to a pro bowler for the 5-1 hawks.

Chris C. is one tough guy, I would be shocked if he didn’t find his way into the game, even if he doesn’t start.

Would be nice if we could suit up with our full/healthy roster at some point this year

I know they have other capapble pass rushers, but Clemons is a beast. He embodies everything that Pete Carroll has built in this team and especially this defense. I love to watch this guy play.

Guy is a baller. We’ll go down and punk AZ without him if we have to.

Time for Michael Bennett and Cliff Avril to step it up on Thursday……

It would probably be best to rest him since it’s a short week game.

This is a tough game…….If good to go, he should……If not, “next man up”. That is the NFL.

Injuries, this season, seem higher than in the past. I wonder if there is any study or comparisons being done on the current trends.
