Cowboys deny they’ve decided to move on from Jay Ratliff

During Sunday night’s Cowboys win over the Redskins, Michelle Tafoya of NBC reported on a conversation she had with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones regarding injured defensive tackle Jay Ratliff.

“My interpretation based on Jerry Jones’ body language and his tone is that Jay Ratliff will not be playing for the Cowboys anymore,” Tafoya said.

Jones said after the game that he wasn’t familiar with the report, but said that the team planned to meet with both Ratliff and doctors to determine what the future holds for a player that was expected to be a key defensive piece in Dallas. Ratliff is on the PUP list after missing all of camp with sports hernia and hamstring injuries and is eligible to start practicing with the team this week.

Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones intimated that a quick return is unlikely, but concurred with his father about the lack of an ultimate decision.

“I think that’s inaccurate,” Stephen Jones said, via Carlos Mendez of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “I think there are a lot of things we’re going to be looking at over the next couple of weeks. Obviously, we’re concerned, I said that last week, that it’s not coming along better. But we won’t know anything like that for another… We’ll get a good going over this week for sure and it should give us a lot more feel.”

Moving on from Ratliff wouldn’t be cheap as cutting him would put $7 million in dead money against the cap, but he’s rarely been on the field since the start of last season and has been critical of the team’s handling of those injuries. That may make it easier to swallow the money, even if the team isn’t ready to make that call now.

Dallas won a predetermined game last night. The Redskins are pound for pound the better team. Yeah, I’m sure Goodell sitting in the Cowboys suite laughing was a coincidence. #Youcantfoolme

Actually I think Rat decided to move on from Dallas last year. This talk of him returning to play this season has all been nonsense. It ain’t happening.

You know the NFC East is in the dumpster when two chump teams like the Cowboys and the R-words make for a ‘big game’.

Ratliff was never the same after the contract extension.

Uh, say there logical dude. Did you happen to notice the scoreboard? BTW, “pound for pound”, you’re the biggest d-bag on this site.

And why should you be surprised that the Commissioner would be sitting in the Owner’s box? He probably sits with Snyder when he goes to the Washington games.

hey I logical voice, the Cowboys won that game last night because even without Murray, Ware and Ratliff THEY ARE the better team! Goodell has NOTHING to do with it! once you understand that fact and get it through that bong resin filled head, the better off you’ll be.
I’ll shed some “logic” on it, so you’ll understand better…. Harris with 222 return yards and 1 TD, 31-16…. SCOREBOARD!! Redskins are 1-4 and where they belong. At the bottom of the NFC East with the Giants!!

Lol LogicalVoice is too funny! You know, we might have to induct him into the honorary Eagles Fan Club, with all the talk about a conspirousy theory. That’s our motto. But seriously, the game was in Dallas, where should Goodell sit? The Stands? Face it dude. Your team wasn’t and isn’t that good. And Shanahan is horrible. Good luck Bud, youre gonna need it, HAHAHA

Who is logicalvoices? Is he the tool bag that comments on every article with the tired HASHTAG references?

The one that refers to the Skins cap penalties even though their track record in FA is abysmal?

I’m curious as to who would win in a fight; Mike Shanahan’s teeth or John Elway’s teeth.

  13. Grulks says: Oct 14, 2013 11:04 AM

Don’t worry Skins fans, you can still say HTTR after last nights game:

    Hail To Tony Romo!

  14. swcowboy says: Oct 14, 2013 11:11 AM

Too funny… Logicalvoices spends all of his time crowing about his ream, but when they lose it becomes a conspiracy…

Logically that would also mean that when the ‘skins win there something funny going on as well… Too bad for him that the football gods have deterimed that the ‘skins shall return to normal this year – at the bottom or second from the bottom of the NFC East…

Sounds like a “Non Denial, Denial”

  16. thebadguyswon says: Oct 14, 2013 11:34 AM

Wow….the Redskins whiners are out in force!! “pound-for-pound a better team” and “predetermined game”.

LOL……nope!! 31-16 and we’ll stomp on your Totem poles in DC too!

  17. cwk22 says: Oct 14, 2013 12:56 PM

Logicalvoices is an idiot. But I hope he sticks around. It’s always good for a laugh! Just like his cousin thegreatgabbert

  18. bluebongzilla says: Oct 14, 2013 1:02 PM

So let me get this straight… we get an article like this about the Cowboys and a guy that hasn’t played all season, but still nothing on why first overall draft pick Eli Manning is averaging almost 3 INTs a game and has the 33rd best passer rating in the NFL (with at least 14 attempts per game played)?

  19. bluebongzilla says: Oct 14, 2013 1:05 PM

NFC East games are always big, fool.

  20. tommyajar says: Oct 14, 2013 1:32 PM

really “logicalvoice”… are going to pull out the conspiracy card! That is one of the funniest things ever! EVER! If that was true about commish’s being at team’s home fields/stadiums and it being a fix for the home team, then the NY Knicks would have won several NBA championships over the Michael Jordan led Bulls in the 80/90’s! You are crazy bro!
