DeMarcus Ware slated to be out 3-4 weeks

DeMarcus Ware AP

The Cowboys reportedly will be without defensive end DeMarcus Ware for several weeks as they enter a challenging stretch of schedule.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Ware is slated to be out 3-4 weeks with a quadriceps injury suffered in Sunday’s victory at Washington.

The 31-year-old Ware pulled up when rushing the quarterback on a passing play.

Regarded as one of the NFL’s top pass rushers, Ware has recorded four sacks in six games this season for Dallas.

Four of the Cowboys’ next five games are away from home, with road contests at Philadelphia (Oct. 20), Detroit (Oct. 27) and New Orleans (Nov. 10) before their Nov. 17 bye. The Cowboys then play at the Giants on Nov. 24.

    NFC East = dumpster

If the Redskins aren’t the NFC East Champions, the division winner isn’t going to make it out of the first round let alone win a Superbowl. We are pound for pound the best team in the divsion. #ThanksforsabotagingourseasonGoodell

    sucks to hear this.

DeMarcus Ware is the physical prototype for elite pass rushing..

this guy is baby faced beast that makes grown men look like silly little pop warner players..

As an eagles fan, i want to win the game.
But i never want to see a player of his caliber and character get injured.

good luck on the recovery big man.

The way he’s been playing lately, you couldn’t convince me that he hasn’t already been out for 3-4 weeks. Starting to think he should change his name to Demarcus Where for “where is he???”

  5. gammynomnom says: Oct 14, 2013 4:41 PM

For all the slack Romo gets, Demarcus tends to disappear in a lot of big games anyway. Can’t count the times I have seem Eli make a fool of him in the past.

Oh, that’s rich. Sorry, but this year the division belongs to either the Cowboys or the Eagles. It just isn’t the Giants year, and the Redskins… well, they’re the Redskins. Nuff said.

Tough break Dallas…. Ware is great player. Solid human being too. Good luck Cowboys. Go Eagles!!

  8. nvuono says: Oct 14, 2013 4:57 PM

Tied at the top of the division with PHI this could put him out during the following stretch:
    @PHI
    @DET
    MIN
    @NO
    (bye)

Keep in mind that PHI has a fairly easy Strength-of-Schedule from here on out and this could be a big blow to the Cowboys.

Of these games coming up, the Eagles game is most critical. Winning that would put them in first place in the East at 3-0. I don’t like their chances to win at Detroit or N.O.

I look for Ware to retrun after the bye week and Dallas will probably be 5-5 at that point.

Last night the young guys did a good job stepping up including Wilbur, who came up with a sack and fumble tackling RG.

    End of story!

dilusionalvoicesays….. You keep saying the the 1-4 Deadskins are “pound for pound” the best team in the NFC East….. What in the HELL is that supposed to mean?? Are they fatter than all the other teams? Thinner?? because what I’ve seen thus far this season…. They suck! Their D is awful! their special teams stink and that QB….. I haven’t seen that many ducks flapping around on a football field since Heath Shuler. Face facts Dilusionalvoice… your teams STINKS!!

  12. steves11 says: Oct 14, 2013 5:35 PM

Ware being out this Sunday actually gives the Eagles a chance to win a shootout from the Cowboys. Expect a very high scoring game, as both defenses suck. Maybe not 51-48, like the Cowboys lost to the Broncos, but maybe something like 41-38.

  13. 700levelvet says: Oct 14, 2013 5:50 PM

Well this puts a major dent in their plans to go 8-8 again. The most mediocre franchise in sports….

  14. officialgame says: Oct 14, 2013 6:02 PM

This clown logical voice has put moor bad Karma on the Skins then is imaginable. The Skins are a bad football team that managed to ruin the career of their promising young QB RG3 before it began. That team is run by a selfish a hated owner and a coach who would stab his own mother in the heart if it meant a playoff win.

  15. 1bigtex says: Oct 14, 2013 6:09 PM

Okay logical, we’ve humored you, but come on. The only thing that keeps the Skins from being in last place is the fact that the Giants have actually been worse this year. Your one victory came over a team that most figured to be one of the two or three worst teams in the league at the start of the season.

Remind me again about that 14-2 season record you predicted. Worked out about as accurate as most of your predictions.

Enjoy that top 10 draft choice you’re working towards…..oh wait…..sorry.

Bad news for the long term prospects of Philly. They are going to wind up taking this awful division, and getting handled in the first round (whoever wins the East will get handled in the first), and then have 7-8 teams with better records than them, picking in front of them. This will kill their chances to pick up a franchise QB in this loaded draft.

This is one Eagles fan that is rooting for Dallas the rest of the way. Honestly, I want to see guys like Jackson, Foles, McCoy, Ertz, Boykin, Kendricks, Cox, etc have big seasons, but the lack of a defense ending up in a lot of losses. That way the young guys confidence is personally boosted, and they are ready to roll next year.

I’m rooting against the skins, mostly just because it will be hilarious to see the Rams get the #1 pick (plus I don’t think stl takes a QB, which is good for Philly)

I’m huge Cowboys fan, but I do think Ware is a bit overrated at times. He disappears in big games. It’s the truth. Ware wasn’t doing anything against the Redskins.. then Wilber comes in and starts killin’ it? I’m just saying… He’s good, but these young players are hungry for snaps too.

  19. fn0901 says: Oct 14, 2013 7:37 PM

I honestly don’t know why so many users of profootball talk pay so much attention to what logicalvoicesays,

Its fairly obvious he’s either a giants, cowboys, or eagles fan that just wants to make the skins look bad.

Either that or just a person wanting attention and willing to write any ridiculous statement about the skins to get it.

Theres no way he believes even half of what he writes.

    Just ignore him.

  20. bluebongzilla says: Oct 14, 2013 7:51 PM

“Can’t count the times I have seem Eli make a fool of him in the past.”

Really. He’s got 14.5 career sacks against the Giants.

“I’m huge Cowboys fan, but I do think Ware is a bit overrated at times. He disappears in big games. It’s the truth. Ware wasn’t doing anything against the Redskins.”

Who are you to characterize last night’s game as a “big game”?

  22. bluebongzilla says: Oct 14, 2013 7:57 PM

“Well this puts a major dent in their plans to go 8-8 again. The most mediocre franchise in sports….”

Actually they’re the second most winningest team of all active franchises, just barely behind the Bears. The Eagles are buried in the bottom third, sandwiched somewhere between the Jaguars and Seahawks, by FAR the worst team in the NFC East in that regard.

  23. voidhelix says: Oct 14, 2013 7:57 PM

Garrett said DeMarcus was “day to day” and that he wants to play. Schefter`s not all knowing. We`ll see.

  24. thereyougo2 says: Oct 14, 2013 8:16 PM

Next five games? That one at Bye Week looks to be tough.

Anyway looks like a split unless Romo plays stupid in either of the two wins. He could lose the bye week even if he plays smart.

  25. fatcamper says: Oct 14, 2013 8:21 PM

I think it is safe to omit “Regarded as,” and simply write “[O]ne of the NFL’s top pass rushers…”

If anybody disputes his status as a “top pass rusher” they either don’t watch football or are too dumb to read the article.

  26. SparkyGump says: Oct 14, 2013 8:24 PM

D-Ware deserves to be on a better team.

Are you kidding? Seriously, this is the lunacy. Who has rated them highly? Even 99% of Dallas fans don’t over rate them. People are predicting they win division at 8-8 or even 7-9. Get away forever.

  28. shatho1 says: Oct 14, 2013 10:10 PM

Seriously Logicalvoice your comments are just not amusing to people. If we could kick u out if these conversations of pft we would. This division is between Dallas and Philly. As for D- Ware being out these young players will get their snaps and will be practicing and getting better each week. Also Logicalvoice if Dallas doesn’t win this division I’d rather see Philly win it than the giants or the R words. GO COWBOYS!!!

  29. cboys4life says: Oct 14, 2013 11:35 PM

Wilber really stepped up last night albeit against the skins he still made the big play when it was needed I expect him to be just fine taking on ware’s role in the defense for all we know he could be the next Demarcus Ware. I know it’s too soon to assume that but every young player just needs their chance keep in mind would any of us know how good Terrance Williams could be if romo had miles austin to throw to the past 2 weeks?

  30. mcarey032 says: Oct 15, 2013 12:00 AM

Ware is a great player, but he is on the down side of his career. He is not the best player on that defense any more, that is Sean Lee. The cowboys could use him, but him being out won’t be the reason the cowboys lose.
