Orlando Franklin day-to-day with ankle sprain

Jaguars Broncos Football AP

The Broncos saw right tackle Orlando Franklin leave Sunday’s victory over the Jaguars in the third quarter with a leg injury and he didn’t return to the game.

Franklin went for tests on his ankle and knee on Monday to discover the severity of his injuries. PFT has learned, via a league source, that Franklin is being considered day-to-day with an ankle sprain.

There was also mention of a potential MCL sprain on Sunday night, although it appears that Franklin has avoided a serious injury to either body part. Whether that means he’ll be able to make the trip to Indianapolis for Peyton Manning’s return to his old stomping grounds remains to be seen, but, at the very least, the Broncos aren’t going to be without both of their starting tackles for the rest of the season.

Louis Vazquez moved from right guard to right tackle after Franklin was injured and Chris Kuper came in to fill the vacated spot on the line. Veteran Winston Justice would be another option at right tackle for the Broncos.
