Packers take look at a lot of linebackers

Clay

With Clay Matthews gone for at least a few more weeks due to a thumb injury and Nick Perry suffering from a broken foot, the Packers need linebackers.

And so they brought in eight guys who could play linebacker in their 3-4 defense on Tuesday.

The candidates were, per a league source, Victor Aiyewa, Alan Baxter, Demetrius Hartsfield, Jake Muasau, Justin Staples, Aston Whiteside, Brandon Williams, and Lawrence Wilson.

Staples and Whiteside technically were classified as defensive ends, but both have played linebacker.
