Thomas Davis wins NFC defensive player of the week

For a guy who wasn’t supposed to be doing this, Thomas Davis is doing it pretty well.

The Panthers linebacker was named NFC defensive player of the week for his two-sack, 10-tackle outburst against the Vikings, which helped propel them to a 35-10 win at Minnesota.

Davis looks fully back to speed after a coming back from three ACL tears to the same knee, and has become a key part of a Panthers defense that ranks third in yards allowed.

But his personal comeback has been impressive, after tearing his right ACL in 2009, then twice more. He’s now started 17 straight games, and with health, he’s producing as well as he ever did before the injury.
