Colts could have LaRon Landry against Broncos

Landry

When Peyton Manning returns to Indy, he won’t recognize many of the players. One guy he won’t recognize -- and who has been gone so long the Colts may not recognize -- is safety LaRon Landry.

The first-year free-agent arrival, a first-round choice of Washington in 2007 who spent last year with the Jets, has appeared in only the first two games of the season, due to an ankle injury.

After missing four games in a row, Landry could be close to returning. Landry was a full participant in practice on Wednesday and Thursday.

Also fully participating in practice on Thursday was linebacker Jerrell Freeman, who suffered a concussion on Monday night in San Diego. He’ll still have to be cleared by an independent neurologist before playing on Sunday night.

Rookie first-rounder Bjoern Werner remains unlikely to play with a foot injury that has caused him to miss the last two games. Coach Chuck Pagano previously said Werner will miss four to six weeks.
