DeMarcus Ware plans to travel to Philly this weekend

When Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Ware hurt his quad against the Redskins last weekend, initial reports were that Ware would miss three-to-four weeks of action while he recovers.

Ware, who has never missed a game in his career, opened the week by saying he was doubtful for this weekend’s game against the Eagles while scoffing at the idea he’d be out as long as reported. Now Ware won’t even agree with a doubtful tag, telling reporters on Thursday that he’ll travel to Philadelphia with the team and be a game-time decision.

“It’s two times better than what it was,” Ware said, via ESPNDallas.com. “I do have some push. I actually have been running in the weight room. It’s feeling pretty good to me personally.”

The Cowboys will release their official injury report for the game on Friday, so we’ll see if they share Ware’s belief that he’s questionable to play against the Eagles. If he is, it would be a good sign that he will be back sooner than expected even if he isn’t able to go in the battle for first place in the NFC East.

Don’t bring him back too soon coach! We all know how that’s worked out in the past.

    …I’m talking to you Jerry.

They’ll go 8-8 with or without Ware… The most mediocre franchise in sports.

This is an important division game but there is a risk of trying to play too soon and allowing this injury to linger. The Cowboys should expect to have to play this game without Ware as he won’t play much, if at all.

@700levelvet… Agree. But, in that LESS THAN mediocre division, the NFC LEAST, they could win the division at 8-8. Sadly, due to current NFL rules, they would advance to the Play Offs. Oh, well that would be 1 more week to laugh at them. All they have is Romo, forget about Ware. Good quad, bad quad, it doesn’t matter. Ask ANY Cowboys fan how that’s worked out for ‘em the last few years (with Ware and Romo in “good” shape).

If I’m the eagles, I’d rather face Ware with a flat tire than someone that’s near 100%.

Doesn’t matter. Dallas doesn’t have a prayer. Voice of Reason tells me birds win the division.

As thin as things have gotten on the Dallas defensive line, having an extra body out there to be able to rotate guys out to catch their breath is worth it even if he isn’t going to be dynamic. However, if Philly goes no-huddle and traps him on the field he could be doing more harm than good.
