Falcons receiver Roddy White entered the league as a first-round pick in 2005. He has had plenty of injuries, but he always has played.
Until now.
Roddy White officially is out for Sunday’s game against the Buccaneers with hamstring and ankle injuries. The ankle injury is old, the hamstring injury is new, relatively speaking.
Also out are tackle Sam Baker (knee), tight end Chase Coffman (knee), and running back Steven Jackson (hamstring).
With receiver Julio Jones already on injured reserve, the pressure mounts on quarterback Matt Ryan to earn his big contract by helping the Falcons hold serve at home against the winless Bucs and avoid the basement of the NFC South.
