Vikings re-sign Jacob Lacey

Jacob Lacey AP

The Vikings have re-signed cornerback Jacob Lacey, the club said Friday.

The 5-foot-180, 183-pound Lacey has notched 257 tackles and intercepted six passes in stints with Indianapolis (2009-2011) and Detroit (2012). Lacey spent part of this offseason with the Vikings but was released in August.

Vikings reserve cornerbacks A.J. Jefferson and Xavier Rhodes are both dealing with ankle injuries, with Jefferson missing practice Thursday.

To make room for Lacey, the Vikings officially placed Harrison Smith on injured reserve/designated to return.

Jacob isn’t a speedster, but at 5 – foot – 180 he wins most of the jump balls.

He’s 5-foot-180? That means he’s 20 feet tall! Maybe he could catch a pass thrown by Cassel!

He can’t be worse than A.J. Jefferson or Josh Robinson.

Guys, at 5-foot-180 he’s obviously being brought in to help in case the roof falls in again this winter.

Josh Robinson couldn’t cover an ant hill with a tarp, so its gotta be an improvement

You guys misread it. He’s not 5-foot-180 inches.

He is 5 foot and 180,183 pounds.

As long as the packers don’t sign a blue whale, Lacey should not be getting pushed around.

This really isn’t an emergency signing if it pertains to playing cheese bay. their running out of wideouts faster than the Vikings can sign 2ndary players.

This move will help the Vikings solidify themselves on two fronts:

    1) Hapless.

    2) Tasteless.

How bad is it when you are now signing castoffs from the Lion’s secondary?

Eli has a woody just thinking about it.

    Um, there’s a local guy, H. P. Grant.
He’s had like 5 int.’s in one game.

At this point he’d upgrade the the defense about 100%.

[let’s not even talk about coaching]
