The Falcons are rapidly running out of wide receivers you’ve heard of, so they’re backfilling the roster with ones you haven’t.

According to Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com, the Falcons are promoting Darius Johnson from the practice squad today. They cleared the spot by cutting special teamer Shann Schillinger.

Johnson, an undrafted rookie from Southern Methodist, will fill in behind the stalwart receiving corps of Harry Douglas, Kevin Cone, Drew Davis and Brian Robiskie.

The Falcons have lost wide receiver Julio Jones for the year, and Roddy White will see his consecutive games streak snapped tomorrow against the Buccaneers because of ankle and hamstring injuries, leaving them short on targets.
