Ravens place Jameel McClain on active roster

The Ravens have added linebacker Jameel McClain to their roster, the club said Saturday.

McClain was on the physically unable to perform list for the first six games of the 2012 season with a spinal cord contusion. He practiced fully throughout the week as the Ravens prepared for Sunday’s game at Pittsburgh.

McClain, 28, has made 45 career regular-season starts for the Ravens. He missed the final three regular-season games of 2012, as well as the postseason, with his injury.

To make room for McClain, the club released tight end Billy Bajema.

How many times has Bajema been released by the Ravens this year?

This is at least the third time Billy has been released but yet he has not missed 1 game yet this season. This reflects bad on Dallas Clark and Ed Dickson.

Glad he made it. Harbs shouldn’t play him this week through, he shouldn’t be subjected to such a thrashing right off the bat.

They had two more weeks before they had to activate him or place on IR. To do this now means he’s going to get some reps on Sunday. He practiced in full all week. Billy though, I feel bad for him. Unless they find other fodder for the waiver wire this could be long term unless they resign him for the practice squad.
