Hobbling Foles has been dealing with an undisclosed (this week) groin injury

Anyone watching the snooze fest masquerading as a football game in Philadelphia (good thing it’s not a Thursday nighter) may have noticed that, late in the first half, Eagles quarterback Nick Foles has been hobbling around.

As it turns out, Foles entered the game with a groin injury, according to Jay Glazer of FOX Sports.

But Foles didn’t appear on the Week Seven injury report with a groin problem, even though the slightest of injuries is supposed to be disclosed.  (Foles was listed as probable in Week Six with a groin injury.)

The news comes at a time when the Eagles possibly have been playing a little fast and loose with the injury report, overstating the status of quarterback Mike Vick in order to possibly dupe opponents into preparing for him.

The Eagles also may have been concealing an injury to the guy who has been playing.

  1. It’s okay, the officials will keep the Eagles in the game. This crap is getting ridiculous on the calling. I guarantee you take Las Vegas/gambling out of sports the calls would be better

  2. How is it possible to get flagged for a neutral zone infraction before the ball is snapped? Were the rules changed or something?

  3. Poor Vegas wasn’t able to properly handicap the game for the gamblers, and there might be some angry fantasy football geeks. Boo-Hoo.

  4. The Eagles like to make excuses for their historically bad QB play. It’s a big part of why they’ve never won anything in the modern era of the NFL, and likely never will.

  5. I can see it now. If he continues to have a poor game, all the Foles fanboys will claim it’s because he’s playing through an injury.

The decision to kick the 60 yarder at the end of the half was pathetic. You know you have a noodle legged kicker. Even if you fail to pick up the first down you don’t lose anything.

  6. The Philadelphia Eagles have only managed to cross the 50-yard line just once in his game thus far, and as an Eagles fan this is growing increasingly difficult to watch. At this point, simply achieving a first down is a significant accomplishment for this offense. I want to call this team pathetic, but even that seems like a drastic understatement.

Sadly, this team would benefit more by simply continuing to lose every game hence-forth. They won’t be hoisting a Lombardi trophy, so they might as well at least get another top-10 selection in next year’s draft. They’ll blow that too.

  7. I don’t know about the groin injury thing, but I don’t see any difference in how Foles is moving today vs. every other game he’s played. He’s just really slow and lumbering.

He did limp a little after taking a hit late in the first half, but logic would dictate that it was probably because of the hit. Especially since he wasn’t limping before the hit.

    Either way he’s been terrible.

  8. Cowboys are taking away all that ‘dink-n-dunk’ crap that made him look so efficient vs Tampa…Tampa.

  9. Woooooow, bad call on that INT reversal. Cowboys will have to beat the refs, too. Pretty sad that the Eagles are still sitting on a goose-egg after all the favorable calls.
