Report: Bears will re-sign Jordan Palmer

There’s no word on the severity of the injury suffered by Bears quarterback Jay Cutler on Sunday, but the Bears are reportedly already moving to shore up their depth chart.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Bears will bring back Jordan Palmer in the wake of Cutler’s injury. Palmer spent a couple of weeks with the team this summer after Matt Blanchard, the expected third-string quarterback, was injured.

The younger brother of Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer played in four games over three years as his brother’s backup in Cincinnati. The younger Palmer also spent time with the Jaguars last season.

Josh McCown played well in relief of Cutler on Sunday. If the injury to Cutler is a bad one, Palmer will be in position to provide relief in the coming weeks.

Smart move, although none of it matters if the defense can’t stop anybody.

Should be a good fit. I believe Palmer wears the same size skirt as Jay.

Matt Blanchard’s looking pretty good right now! Too bad the Bears can’t have access to him til after week 10! Cutler isn’t elite by any means, but without him, the Bears are sitting ducks………

How about luring Favre out of retirement? Is this not his dream situation? Only half a season left, including both Packers games, tons of good receiving options, a great RB, a QB-minded coach, and only half game out of first in the NFC North with only one tough matchup left (not counting the three Packers or Lions games). Wouldn’t be the craziest thing I’ve seen

Where are all of the LOUD MOUTH Bear fans today……….Shhhhhh that ‘s right Shhhhhh …

  27. roachyxxx says: Oct 21, 2013 7:39 AM

I can’t imagine Brian Urlacher is too sympathetic to the Bears’ problems.

  28. iowahbr says: Oct 21, 2013 12:10 PM

Only the Jags and Giants with a combined 1 win between them have given up more points than the Bears. Get Lovie on the phone as I think we are still paying him…Looks like it might be too late to call Tim T. for a QB back-up.

Calling Vince Young… Calling Vince Young…
