Brandon Jacobs not expected to go tonight

Brandon Jacobs AP

If anyone sees Rodney Hampton or Joe Morris hanging around today, it might be worth telling them to swing by tonight’s Giants game.

They might get asked to suit up.

According to Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports, Giants running back Brandon Jacobs isn’t expected to play tonight against the Vikings.

Jacobs was listed on the injury report as questionable with a hamstring problem, but it appears to be leaning more toward the wrong side of the 50-50 hyphen.

He had 106 yards in his last appearance, and the Giants could certainly use all the hellp they can get.

If he can’t play, the Giants will be down to rookie Michael Cox, and their latest in-season addition, Peyton Hillis. With problems like that, you’d think the Giants would be 0-6 or something.

But Antrel Rolle thinks they can blow people out, everything’s fine.

The Vikings’ run defense stats should improve now. Unfortunately, Manning will probably throw for 550 yards.

Nothing says our season has lost hope like needing Brandon Jacobs to play to feel good about your chances to win.

it doesn’t matter who starts at RB. Eli will have a big night against the Vikings’ putrid secondary. I know the Giants’ OL is about as effective as orange parking cones and I’m sure Eli will get sacked a few times and will throw a pick or two. With that said, Eli should throw until his arm falls off. Robinson is a stiff and Smith and Jefferson are out. Lacey gets signed Friday and will play a lot tonight. Wow. How bad are Mistral Raymond and Blanton if they can’t beat out Senjedo (or whatever his name is). I will watch the whole game because that’s what a fan does but it will be tough. At least they’ll get killed on the road.

Guess we’ll all find out if Hillis really wants to play football anymore or not tonight.

    This team is haunted!

With the way this season (and particularly this week) has been going for the Giants and Vikings, it’s amazing one of the teams playing tonight is going to (most likely, don’t want to be like Donovan) have to win.

It doesn’t matter who the Giants have at running back. Eli should throw until his arm falls off against the putrid Viking secondary. With Harrison Smith and A.J. Jefferson out Eli should have a monster game. I realize that the Giants’ OL are about as effective as a row of traffic cones and Eli will get sacked a few times and maybe throw a pick or two but at the end of the day the Giants win big. I will watch the game from beginning to end because that’s what a fan does but its going to be a long night. How bad are Mistral Raymond and Blanton if they can’t beat out Andrew Whatshisname at safety? At least they’re only going to get blown out on the road.

Jacob Lacey gets signed on Friday and he’ll play a ton tonight. Ha ha.Sherels too. They should be playing Arena ball. Oh God it will get ugly. Eli will put up some unreal numbers tonight

If you aren’t a fan of one of these teams, is there a single good reason to watch this game other than possibly seeing whether a change of scenery does anything for Josh Freeman.

And boy, when that’s your top story line, you know you’ve got a rough night ahead of you.

Oh yeah, then there’s that other reason to watch. It’s Monday Night Football. What else are you going to watch? It will still be the number 1 prime time show tonight.

Hey Giants fans we have no secondary and if Eli throws them the ball they cannot catch should be an equal game, good luck!
