Doug Martin still hasn’t practiced

Perhaps the worst week of prime-time games in league history, which started with the 1-4 Vikings facing the 0-6 Giants and concludes next Monday with the Kellen Clemens show in St. Louis (and includes technically a prime-time local game in London featuring the 0-7 Shaguars), features a Thursday night affair featuring the winless Buccaneers.

But thanks to fantasy football, there’s interest in at least one Tampa Bay player. Running back Doug Martin has a shoulder injury, and he has yet to practice this week.

The Bucs have been tight lipped about Martin’s availability. On Tuesday, coach Greg Schiano would say only that Martin is “day-to-day” and “getting treatment.”

Offensive coordinator Mike Sullivan acknowledged that, if Martin can’t go, Mike James and Brian Leonard will carry the load.

Of course, the running game could quickly become irrelevant if the Panthers pounce on the Buccaneers early, forcing us all to find something else to watch.

Assuming that anyone dials up the game in the first place.
