It’s a bye week in Houston, but things are awfully busy around the Texans.

The Texans cut three players on Monday for violating team rules on the trip to Kansas City last weekend and another name was deleted from the roster on Tuesday. According to his agent David Canter, the team has parted ways with linebacker Tim Dobbins.

Dobbins didn’t run afoul of any organizational regulations, but teams that are 2-5 don’t tend to need them to make changes to the roster during a bye week. The timing of this move is a bit odd because the team just lost Brian Cushing for the season to a torn LCL and broken leg, but Dobbins has played just three games this season because of a hamstring injury.

Canter said his client is “100 percent” healthy when he announced the release, so the 31-year-old could catch on with another team looking for help at linebacker. With several roster spots open, it’s a good bet that the Texans will be signing at least one linebacker in the coming days.
