Hot state spawns multiple hot seats

Florida

As the eighth week of the 2013 regular season approaches, the success of the Kansas City Chiefs under first-year coach Andy Reid confirms one basic truth about the NFL.

After the current season ends, owners will believe they are one good coaching hire away from a turnaround. Which means that plenty of coaches will get fired.

This week’s PFT Live hot seat includes a pair of coaches from teams in Florida, where the three NFL franchises currently are on a combined 0-16 stretch. Counting last year’s five-game losing streak to end the season in Jacksonville, the run of futility goes to 0-21.

The list, as always, is subject to change. But if the season were to end right now, the five guys named in the accompanying video would be among the most likely to be moved out, in the hopes that someone else will move in -- and win.
