C.J. Spiller doubtful for Sunday, game-time decision

C.J. Spiller AP

Over the past few days, there’s been a little back-and-forth about the status of Bills running back C.J. Spiller and his ankle injury.

The short version is, Spiller thinks he’s well enough to play, and Bills coach Doug Marrone thinks he might need a week off to get well.

Well, the official word for the week is in, and Spiller has been listed as doubtful on the injury report. According to Mike Rodak of ESPN.com, Marrone said Spiller would be a game-time decision.

While no player wants to come out of the lineup, the best move for the Bills might be to let him get his ankle right, and come back when his 100 percent actually is 100 percent, and not 75.

The Bills have kept every game except the late pick six game against Cleveland within 7 points of their opponent. The team is averaging 22.7 points a game while giving up an average of 25.4. With that little of a difference in average points, Buffalo could easily be 6-1 or 5-2 right now. 3-4 is where they stand, 2 games away from New England and 1 from the Jets. This game against New Orleans looks to be an impossible win, but if they can take a game right down to the last seconds with New England, beat the Ravens and surpass the tough D of Carolina, then they can compete with Brees and the Saints, especially when they were edged out by Brady and his inept receivers. I am still going with New Orleans 38 to 35 over Buffalo, but I don’t believe the Bills will be destroyed either.

The Saints have allowed an opponent to score more than 18 points only once this year, and that was in New England.
What makes you think that Buffalo is the offensive juggernaut to score the most point against the Saints this season, let alone in their house?
I think the Bills will give the Saints some tough competition but saying that they will lay down 35 points in the dome (without their #1 RB being 100%) is a bit of a stretch.
