More than $47,000 worth of fines for Rams-Panthers

It seemed like the Panthers and Rams spent most of last Sunday fighting with each other.

The bills came due today.

The league has confirmed to PFT a number of fines from the fracas-filled face-off.

Rams defensive end Chris Long was fined $15,750 for unnecessary roughness. He was flagged and ejected for throwing a punch.

There were at least four other $7,875 fines for cheap shots and taunting during the game.

Rams guard Harvey Dahl was docked for a late hit, and wide receiver Brian Quick for hitting an opponent in the face.

Panthers safety Mike Mitchell got one for taunting as well, and wide receiver Steve Smith paid up for hitting an opponent in the face while blocking.

What wasn’t announced is whether the officiating crew was punished at all for letting a game get so out of control.

Really? Chris Long throws a punch at someone gets an unnecessary roughness penalty and ejected and only a $15,750 fine? Suh does a clean hit on Weeden, doesn’t draw a flag and gets a 30k fine? I can see the consistency and justice in the league…..

So because of things he’s done in the past he should get fined for clean plays? Think it’s clear who the assclown is here.

Exactly!!! The refs were horrible. They let 4 panthers attack 1 rams for so long that other members of both teams had plenty of time, felt like someone has to get involved because the refs were doing nothing but watching the fight. ATTENTION all you panther fans who were getting on me for mentioning that S.Smith is a cry baby and also has anger issue as well, do you believe it now that this story says he also threw a punch?
He probably looked like the little boxer who fights everyone on the original Nintendos Mike Tyson Punch out. Remember that game? HEHEHE

    Let the Panther whining begin..

Gosh. A whopping $47K in fines… and by the way, the Rams lost Sam Bradford for the season. Which is more important?
