Raiders bring up Jack Cornell from practice squad

With offensive line injuries a concern entering Sunday’s game against Pittsburgh, the Raiders have added some depth.

The Raiders have signed lineman Jack Cornell from the practice squad, the club said Saturday.

In a corresponding move, the Raiders released defensive lineman Brian Sanford.

Cornell, 24, was signed to the Raiders’ roster for the Oct. 6 game against San Diego. He was waived on Oct. 7, then re-signed to the practice squad two days later. An Illinois product who played both guard and tackle for the Fighting Illini, Cornell was a member of the Ravens’ practice squad in 2012.

Three Raiders offensive linemen are listed as doubtful for Sunday: center Andre Gurode (quad), right tackle Tony Pashos (hip) and left tackle Menelik Watson (calf).

  1. Most experts favor Pittsburgh in this game. Why? Raiders have handled Pittsburgh back when they were Super Bowl contenders and champs. Pryor has his best game as pro. 31-21 Raiders.

  2. It sounds to me that there’s going to be a lot of running in this game and not a lot of passing. It’s a good thing I have MJ D and Frank Gore on my fantasy football team!

  3. I don’t know if reggie knows o-line talent as much as he does LBs but he needs to address this in the offseason in earnest.

Take best player available in the early rounds of the draft though.

    Go Raiders!

Don’t these fantasy wanks have their own sites to post on, where nobody notices how stupid they are?
