With the Lions struggling to put healthy tackles on the field, the guys who’ll play probably won’t have to worry about one of the best pass rushers in the league.
Per a league source, Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Ware remains unlikely to suit up, two weeks after straining a quad muscle on Sunday Night Football.
Officially, he’s doubtful — just like he was last week. Against the Eagles, however, there was a greater sense of optimism about Ware playing, in large part because Ware was suggesting he could play.
The original timeline for the injury suggested that Ware would be out for at least three weeks.
That’s good news for the Lions; tackles Corey Hilliard (out), Jason Fox (questionable), and Riley Reiff (questionable) are banged up. The only healthy tackles on the roster are undrafted rookie LaAdrian Waddle and newly-signed Barry Richardson, who recently replaced tight end Tony Scheffler on the roster.
