Report: Both of Manning’s ankles are sprained

When Broncos coach John Fox was asked this week which of quarterback Peyton Manning’s ankles are sprained, Fox didn’t hesitate to answer with a non-answer.

I don’t have to tell you that,” Fox said, laughing.

The joke’s on whoever assumed that Peyton has only one ankle injury.  According to Chris Mortensen of ESPN, both ankles are injured.

One happened against the Jaguars in Week Six, and the other came in Week Seven at Indy.  Dr. Robert Anderson has reviewed scans of the injuries, one of which reportedly is a mild version of the dreaded high ankle sprain.

Per Mort, Manning will get through Sunday’s game on painkillers and adrenaline.  He’ll then have two weeks to get ready for the next game.

Meanwhile, an argument could be made that the Broncos took some unfair liberties with the injury report.  If, in the end, both ankles were injured, shouldn’t the injury report has used the plural of the term when disclosing the condition?

Broncos may not even make the usual one and done this post-season. Manning and Brady are both slowly falling apart.

Opposing teams will definitely be tackling low after this report.

So I guess we won’t see Manning scrambling and running the zone read?

Which one do you limp on?

Not a smart move. Why not rest him. Give time to heal for the second half run. The Redskins could inflict damage, not liking this move if I’m I Broncos supporter.

Denver’s poor OL pass protection will be the reason Manning plays injured the remainder of the season.

    Denver has peaked.

The Broncos are paying Peyton Manning a ton of money, but because of his age, they don’t have a lot of time to win with him. If they don’t win the SB this year, then when?

  18. joetoronto says: Oct 27, 2013 12:44 PM

He won’t even make it through the regular season, at least he won’t be able to choke in the playoffs.

  19. blackcatnfl says: Oct 27, 2013 12:55 PM

So he’ll only throw 6 TDs this weekend?

As a Redskins fan Peyton could be a paraplegic
And still tear up our secondary. #realisticredskinsfan

The time is fast approaching for both Manning and Brady that we will look away when they go down.

You don’t owe us any more. We have enjoyed watching you and thrilling at your accomplishments, love you or hate you. We don’t want to see you go into the HOF from a wheelchair.

    FYI – I am a Patriots’ fan.

Well well well all you folks with the 62 thumbs down…

The Cow girls lost and are only 4 and 4. The Giants, after beginning 0 and 6 are now only 2 games back as they beat the Eagles and the Broncos will most likely beat the Redskins (already 7 to 0) so there season, while still dire isn’t over.

We all know the Cow girls will finish around 8 & 8 because they’ll give away enough games to prevent them from winning more…

Did you all see how they let the Lions go down the field? How, when a team has no timeouts do you let them complete a long go route down the sideline? You leave the middle of the field open because they can’t stop the clock, NOT the sideline routes…

The Cow girls can’t get out of their own way…

They looked fine to me. (Nearly called the final score perfectly 5 days ago, had it 45-21.)
