Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Sidney Rice left Monday night’s game against the St. Louis Rams in the second quarter and is doubtful to return.
Rice was injured on a pass in the end zone from Russell Wilson that was defended by cornerback Janoris Jenkins. Rice was slow to get up and was tended to by the training staff before heading to the locker room. The team announced he was doubtful to return to the game.
Rice went to Switzerland during training camp in August to have a procedure performed on his ailing knee. Rice said at the time it was a platelet-rich plasma treatment that he hoped would improve the feeling in his knee. It’s uncertain if the injury is to the same knee he received the treatment on.
Without Rice, Seattle will likely have to turn to Jermaine Kearse to step in to Rice’s role in the offense alongside Golden Tate and Doug Baldwin.
