Harbaugh is coy about Crabtree’s return

Crabtree

Two-plus weeks ago, the window opened for 49ers receiver Michael Crabtree to return to practice.

On Tuesday, coach Jim Harbaugh tried to avoid providing a timetable for Crabtree’s arrival.

Asked if Crabtree’s return in a few weeks is “still doable,” Harbaugh had this to say: “That’s doable. I’m not going to make any proclamations or profound statements, but he’s right on track for, at some point here, weeks.”

Asked if the middle of November is the target, Harbaugh stuck to his non-specific guns: “Some amount of weeks.”

Under the rules applicable to the physically unable to perform list, the player can return to practice at any point between Week Six and Week 11. Once the player returns to practice, a three-week window opens to put the player on the active roster or shut him down for the rest of the year.
