49ers waive Marlon Moore, opening spot for Mario Manningham

The 49ers said goodbye to one wide receiver with the initials M.M. and he’ll likely be replaced on the roster with another receiver with the same initials.

Marlon Moore is the Double M heading out the door and Mario Manningham is the one about to make his return. The 49ers announced Wednesday that they have waived Moore, which is a pretty good sign that Manningham will make his 2013 debut against the Panthers when the Niners return from their bye in Week 10.

Moore joined the 49ers in the offseason and wound up playing in six regular season games. He caught just one pass in those games, serving as part of a weak receiving corps behind Anquan Boldin that the 49ers hope improves with the return of Manningham and Michael Crabtree in the coming weeks.

Moore spent his first three NFL seasons with the Dolphins, who have been looking for wideouts in the wake of Brandon Gibson’s season-ending knee injury.

Marlon Moore was pretty good with the Dolphins, send him back. They need someone to replace Brandon Gibson now, and he couldn’t be any worse than what they have.
Now with Jonathon Martin doing a disappearing act, the circus comes to town tonight. It couldn’t get any worse.

    Welcome back, Super Mario.

It’s gonna take him a little while to get back into the speed of things and it’ll be good to have him around for the playoff push. #red&golddynasty
