Bucs announce sellout of Week 10 Monday night game

Good news, Buccaneers!  The Monday night game against the Dolphins has been completely sold out, with 100 percent of all non-premium tickets purchased.

Bad news, Buccaneers!  The Monday night game against the Dolphins has been completely sold out, with 100 percent of all non-premium tickets purchased.

The Bucs have turned the page on Wednesday’s conflicting reports regarding whether guard Davin Joseph did or didn’t have MRSA (he had non-MRSA staph) by announcing that the Week 10 game has been sold out, but the looming arrival of a full house for a game to be played by an 0-8 team on national TV could lead to some ugliness being directed at coach Greg Schiano.

If, of course, Schiano is still the coach in 11 days.

Some think that Schiano will be fired if/when (when) the Seahawks blow out the Bucs in Seattle on Sunday.  If he’s not, that full stadium could be in full throat, chanting for Schiano’s ouster and/or for the immediate hiring of Lovie Smith.

Adding to the intrigue will be the halftime addition of defensive tackle Warren Sapp to the team’s Ring of Honor, especially since Sapp recently has taken aim at Schiano.

“If I’m down in Tampa, I’m questioning this whole thing because it’s a mafia style,” Sapp said.  “I know [Mike] Glennon is not the quarterback that Josh Freeman is.  There’s no question about it.  The film tells me this.  Practice tells me this.  Even my quarterback demeanor tells me this. . . .

“[W]hen you’re my way or the highway, you must win now.  Because guys don’t believe in your way when you’re losing.  And you lose the way they lost the first two weeks, you gave away those football games.  And whenever you’ve giving away football games, your style needs to change.”

Yep, it’s going to be an interesting night in Tampa.

I’m a Dolphins fan and I can tell your right now, we are going to lose this game to the winless Bucs on MNF in front of the whole country.

So if they didn’t fire Schiano after last Thursday when they had 10 days for the interim coach to prepare, why would they do it now? Schiano is going to survive the season and be fired 5 seconds after the final whistle.

What would this game sell out? Have Bucs fans seen their team play? This could be worse than Giants-Vikings

Just because the tickets have been distributed doesn’t mean butts will be in the seats. Tune in and decide if you’d call the game “sold out”.

The only team that couldn’t sell out a Monday night game was the Chargers.

Yeah except, the sponsors bought them at 35 cents on the dollar and there will be 20,000 empty seats again. The cannot give away tickets at this point.

On the bright side Bucs fans, the Dolphins are bad enough you could actually get your first win.

The revolving door Fins Oline gives your D a real chance to step up.

    And what percentage of the crowd will be ‘visiting’ Dolphans? 20 … 30 … 40 … 50%?

Not Sure, but when the Saints come, it is around 60-65% Saints fans.

The best chance for an entertaining TV watching experience is if Schiano is still head coach. The fans will make be killing him all night – it will be a rowdy rowdy crowd. The season isn’t going anywhere anyways and as a life long Bucs fan I hope Schiano is still there to take his beating on MNF. Also Schiano gives the Bucs the best chance of beating out Jacksonville for the top pick.

So Glazers, don’t listen to the shortsighted fans calling for his head. Keep him in place, make for great TV and help us get the top pick and hopefully a franchise QB.
