As free agent defensive tackle Jay Ratliff prepares for a legal battle with his old team, he’s also in the process of finding a new team.

Ratliff, who was cut by the Cowboys two weeks ago, has visited the Chiefs and Bears, according to Ed Werder of ESPN. Ratliff is also expected to visit at least one more team.

Werder reports that Ratliff, who was on the physically unable to perform list and didn’t play for the Cowboys this season, is expected to be healthy enough to play in two to four weeks.

If Ratliff is at full speed, he could provide a major upgrade in the middle of the defensive line for a lot of teams. A four-time Pro Bowler with the Cowboys, he could help the Chiefs, the Bears or a lot of other teams make a run to the playoffs.
