Nine weeks, no blackouts

Test+Pattern

Week Nine of the 2013 NFL season unfolds starting tonight, and for the first time since 2006 the NFL will make it through nine weeks with no blackouts.

Yes, there are a few asterisks.  Some teams (like the Dolphins) have exercised the ability to reduce their minimum sale threshold to 85 percent of the non-premium seats.  Others (like the Dolphins) have purchased the excess tickets at 34 cents on the dollar.

Regardless, the string stretches this week of 133 games with no local blackouts.  Even though some fans in Minnesota, Jacksonville, and Tampa likely would wish that one or more of their team’s home games wouldn’t be televised.

Or their road games.

When I watched the bills at Miami game it only looked like there was 10000 people but they still called it a sellout

It’s a BS stat because so far all of the Bucs games would’ve been blackouts if the team wasn’t eating the unsold tickets.

@billsysabres…..just worry about your sorry a** Bills.

Sad but True the Dolphins are a top 12 Team in Fanbase across the country and around the world, but just not in Miami. Go figure? Even if I lived in Miami I am not sure I would choose a crappy old Stadium and sit in 100 degree weather. Heck, I can watch them lose from the comfort of my Air Conditioned House. C’mon Dolphins don’t break my heart again tonight in a Primtime Game!

@ schmokes … If the game was televised locally then it wasn’t a local TV blackout no matter how that was achieved … you have no point

A freaking Bills fan talking about other teams having attendance problems. *sigh*

There would have been a Monday night football blackout in San Diego if ESPN had not bought all the tickets. Thanx ESPN.

Lucky for the Minnysoda lavender Larrys are playing in Dallas or they rightly would be suffering the embarrassment of having their 1st of many blackouts to come.

We still had 65000 people in the stands before Ralph Wilson bought the tickets lot more than other teams stadium capacity

How is Miami not blacked out? I got more kids at my door tonight and only went through 2 bags of Twix.

Ralph Wilson is still alive? Bills are still in Buffalo so I guess so. See we can all play that game.

As someone else mentioned, worry about your own team.
