No Percy Harvin return this week

The Seahawks will be without wide receiver Sidney Rice this week after Rice tore his ACL in Monday night’s narrow victory over the Rams.

They won’t have Percy Harvin either. The much anticipated return of Harvin from offseason hip surgery has been put off a little bit longer. Coach Pete Carroll made the announcement during an appearance on SiriusXM NFL Radio on Thursday.

“Percy won’t play this week,” Carroll said. “He’s getting close but not close enough.”

Harvin hasn’t practiced this week after reportedly suffering a setback in practice last week. Carroll’s comments suggest that there’s a chance that Harvin will be able to play in Week 10 against the Falcons, but, then, it looked like he had a good shot of playing against the Buccaneers as well.

With Harvin out, Doug Baldwin and Golden Tate will be the top receivers in the lineup on Sunday with Jermaine Kearse, Bryan Walters and Ricardo Lockette in reserve.
