Roddy White practices, will be game-time decision

Falcons wide receiver Roddy White hasn’t been doing anything but individual work on the side for the last three weeks or so, but it might take him just one practice to get back into the lineup for the Falcons.

White returned to practice on Friday for the first time since injuring his hamstring in a Week Five loss to the Jets and coach Mike Smith said afterward that White would be a game-time decision for Sunday’s game against the Panthers.

“I felt good today,” White said, via Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com. “My first time getting out there, so I wanted to test it out, see how it is. Doing well. Running some routes. Did some things that’s in the game plan. So, I felt real good out there.”

White played the first five weeks of the season at considerably less than full speed because of a high ankle sprain, which may serve as a cautionary tale about how far the 2-5 Falcons want to push the wideout. Even without White and Julio Jones, passing the ball hasn’t been the biggest problem for the Falcons and White’s return isn’t going to fix the flawed offensive line, running game or defense.

“Game time decision?” What a bunch of nonsense. If he doesn’t have a setback, he’s playing. And he’ll know if there was a setback by Saturday morning. The REAL question is, if he plays, how close to 100% will he be?

That’s a backhanded way of saying Matt Ryan has been carrying the team

Hopefully we get him back. Matt needs a familiar receiver. Plus defense

Panthers are going to decimate them…with or without White. Ryan should have never ran his mouth last year!
