There haven’t been too many offensive highlights in Cleveland on Sunday, but most those that have materialized have been made by the Browns.

Jason Campbell was able to shake off a big hit from Haloti Ngata to return to the game and throw his second touchdown of the day to Davone Bess to left the Ravens to a 14-3 lead. Neither Campbell nor the rest of the Browns offense has been perfect, but they’ve been capable and competitive. That wasn’t the case when Brandon Weeden ran the unit and that’s why he won’t be running it ever again outside of injury to Campbell.

The defense was sparkling for the majority of the half, forcing four three-and-outs and intercepting Joe Flacco once before returning to the field with just under two minutes to play. Flacco hit Torrey Smith for 46 yards and then found Marlon Brown for 19 yards for a touchdown that cut the score to 14-10 at the half.

Those two plays accounted for 65 of the Ravens’ 125 yards so far on Sunday, which underscores how little their offense was able to produce. It’s got them within spitting distance, however, and Campbell might need to wring something more than capable and competitive out of the Browns offense to make sure that’s as close as Baltimore gets.
