Rob Ryan can finally beat Rex today

Since Rob Ryan and Rex Ryan both became coordinators or higher, they’ve squared off four times.

Rex is undefeated against Rob.

It’s not just 2-0 with Rex as head coach of the Jets and Rob as defensive coordinator the Cowboys and before that the Browns.  It’s 4-0 dating back to Rex’s time as defensive coordinator of the Ravens and Rob as defensive coordinator of the Raiders.

This time, however, the deck is stacked in Rob’s favor.  He has quarterback Drew Brees, who is in much better position given his experience and accomplishments to process inside information about Rex’s expected approach that rookie Geno Smith will be when hearing from Rex about Rob’s approach.

I’d like to see these two go at it in a cage match.

Rob Ryan should be able to beat him… he weighs 200 lbs. more than Rex.

This would be interesting if both were head coaches. Maybe it would be interesting if one were an OC and the other was a DC. As it is, this is completely superfluous; they don’t compete directly.
